Cronenberg's 'Shivers' resembles/rips-off which book?

DeadAlive 4th June 2009 12:14 PM

Could it be J. G. Ballard's novel "High Rise " ?

Philleh 4th June 2009 01:55 PM

It certainly is!

You guys are good at this.

DeadAlive 4th June 2009 05:52 PM

I was looking for that book a while back, but couldn't find it anywhere. I forgot all about it until that question reminded me. Time to start looking again, maybe? ..........I bet it's available at Amazon these days. :D

Topical question. Which British Horror Icon is returning to Hammer Films for their brand new production "The Resident "?

Philleh 4th June 2009 06:21 PM

The great Christopher Lee himself!

What was the first release under the recently reformed Hammer label?

I managed to get High-rise in a FOPP store before it closed down awhile back! Damn book read! :)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 4th June 2009 08:25 PM

The Wake Wood?

DeadAlive 4th June 2009 08:40 PM

"Beyond The Rave " and it featured Ingrid Pitt in a support role. I haven't seen it but I've only read bad things. Maybe worth a DVD rental out of curiosity though when it's released. ;)

Correct on Christopher Lee.

Your question then, asuming the Hammer release thing wasn't it.
