Default Phenomena - The Artwork Panels

Okay, you've probably already seen one panel before, but this is where the good stuff is unveiled and the other three are showcased in all their glory. Of course, I'm not going to show you them all at once - where's the suspense in that?

Please remember that this thread is only for discussing the artwork and there are (and will be) others for discussing the film itself, the disc and other aspects of the release.

So, without further ado, here is the first panel, painted by Rick Melton:

I'm glad Arrow are going with this one as I really like it. It doesn't just scream horror, which may get it i few more sales from casual buyers.

Yeah, the original art looked very 'over red' to me, but it looks fantastic now framed by the white border. Really looking forward to this one arriving, as I've been putting off seeing it since it was announced.

Looking forward to seeing which alternative panels have been selected for this one, too.

I see you've taken a page out of Sarah's book Nos, and are working the 'keep us in suspense' angle.

I'll put up a new one tomorrow, another on Thursday and then the final one on Friday so you can work out which one is going to be your cover of choice and if any can beat Rick's artwork.

Rick's artwork is very good and well in keeping with the film.

There are some nice posters for this film. I have a french poster which is cool - has Connelly stood in a Christ-like pose above a montage of the school, Donald Pleasance, the chimp and the silhouette of the killer.

The Palace Video cover's cool too (the one with the chimp holding the straight razor, Connelly's head and the school.

There's also the other one that makes it look like a proper snooze-fest - it was the artwork used for the Dutch video release (on the EVC label) - has Connelly sat, hand away from her body with a butterfly hovering over it. Give me a monkey with a straight razor any day.

This one? With the lightsabres and a terminator?

Those observations of yours are quite justified of course!

Mine's signed by Argento.

That must be one of your prized possessions -- I hope it is framed and kept in a very prominent place in your home; it would be if I had one!

Was that the best thing you could find to get him to sign?

It is! My wife hung it up, actually. I was thinking it was something that would be banished to a downstairs bog or the workshop (next to a still from Texas Chainsaw), but no, pride of place on the landing at the top of the stairs!
