Probably the remake of The Fog.

Completely failed to capture the mood and sense of dread the original did so well. I would have certainly dropped the DJ from the film as she failed to live up to Adrienne Barbeau's sexy calming lilt and would have been better on Radio 1.

Although i like Tom Welling in Smallville he was completely miscast in The Fog.

Cool

Just about any U.S. re-make of Japanese horror(here's an idea, watch the original instead) funny thing is, if the Japanese would re-make American movies bet they would be better(well, some anyway)

The Hills Have Eyes remake is one of the greatest remakes ever, guys! It surpasses the original imho.

Gotta agree with you. Although the original is classic and dirtier feeling and definitely gets put in my DVD player often, the remake is just more fun and entertaining. I had the pleasure of meeting Aja before his remake came out, nice guy, but I asked him if he could recommend any great French horror films and he told me they are all shit.? I have to disagree with him on that one.

Do you know...I think I may well agree with you.

The original is one of Craven's better films and was a HUGE improvement over Last House On The Left, but was still clumsy and slightly amateurish and occasionally the tension was undermined by unintentional humour. The remake was a classy flick.

I'm a lover of all the originals, especially TCSM, so when I watch a remake I try to forget it's a remake and take it as just another film, eg I recently watched the Elm St one and, being a big fan of the original, I was expecting to hate it, however I really enjoyed it, same goes for the Dawn remake. I'm yet to see the Friday the 13th one but, from what I've heard it's completely rubbish. I think it's good how these remakes make the younger generations check out the originals giving the old classics more exposure

The "Friday the 13th" remake is an abomination in the eyes of God and horror! Shit from start to finish. Not only that, it's really a remake of the same director's remake of TCM.
