It is hard to pick one favorite character. I liked Bea, Lizzie, Doreen, Pixie, Cass, Judy, Helen, Minnie, Bobbie, so many to choose from. Also Meg, Vera, Joan, Joyce, Coleen, Erica and Ann. They were all brilliant.

The character synonymous to Prisoner is definitely The Freak... She is a total icon even of today... And that name is known by everyone around the world....

But for me the characters that made me love the show so much are (in rough order):
Erica Davidson
Reb Keane
Vera Bennett
Pixie Mason

As much as I loved the Freak, she also ruined the show for me by dominating the show by lasting too long, going through so many ups and downs and repeated situations.

It's very hard to say because there were many great characters and the show works as a whole. However, I would choose Bea Smith. For me Bea very much IS Prisoner. That said, the show was still great without her.
