1950's-1960s Sci-Fi

what's your favourite golden age sci-fi movie?

vincenzo 4th January 2010 11:06 PM

2001: A Space Odyssey is my all time favourite sci-fi film. From the 50's I would probably go for the original War Of The Worlds. Still a classic today.

I also love Plan 9 From Outer Space but that's because I need therapy.

I'd say it's probably between Forbidden Plant and War Of The Worlds.Doesn't matter what I'm doing,If I switch on the tv and any one of those happen to be playing,I'll watch them, even if they've been on for a while.

i love war of the worlds and forbidden planet is a marvel in cinematic production, but for me it has to be either Invaders from mars or Them!, with honorable mention to the day the earth stood still.

Probably '2001', but i have a real soft spot for Godards 'Alphaville' too. Super stylish and understated for a sci fi. Anna Karina too which is a bonus. ;)

Barbarella deserves a mention too, love all the sets in that film
