I read in an article by someone involved in the making of P2 waaaay back in Fangoria that the Predator in Predator 2 was a young warrior. Which is why you can see him more when he is supposed to be invisible. He is still learning.
Something that unless you read about it you would not know by just watching the film.

I always presumed he was on some sort of initiation hunt which probably meant he was young. It's the scene where the other Predators turn up at the end, clearly the elders, and reward Glover for winning the hunt.

'Prey' has been nominated for 6 Emmy's in the Horror category:
  • Outstanding Television Movie
  • Outstanding Directing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie
  • Outstanding Picture Editing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie
  • Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special (Original Dramatic Score)
  • Outstanding Writing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie
  • Outstanding Sound Editing For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special

The reason it is eligible for an Emmy (the American award for artistic and technical merit for the television industry) is due to the fact that it was its 'direct-to-streaming release strategy!'
