Probably for the best. Who wants a Terminator film that gets referred to as "Matt Smith's...."

I love the first two films but I voted for the original as its darker tone and tighter pacing edges it for me. Like most, I don't like the other three much.

Saw the first on release at the cinema, although quite a ride T2 doesn't have the nice low budget grime of the first, and as I recall the original was the B feature with Lone Wolf McQuade but was easily the better flick, so the original Terminator for me also, for once I'm in the majority in the poll.

Looks about as bad as the rest of the series - apart from the first. That's a favourite of mine, always has been. I can't stand any of the sequels, including the ever popular T2. |

Don't think I'll bother with the new Terminator film. Apparently a key character is killed at the very beginning which not only seems like a slap in the face to fans but also makes the events of the first two movies seem completely redundant. Throwing the baby out with the bath water is the phrase that springs to mind. I get that writers want to surprise the audience but they should think hard about whether or not that surprise is a good idea. I'll just stick with Terminators 1-3. I fairly recently rewatched T3 and was surprised by just how entertaining it was. It's certainly not as bad as folks make out and the crane chase is an excellent action sequence. It also had a very good ending that serves well as a trilogy capper. Personally I think the first five films get weaker with each iteration (the original is perfection imo), to the point where Genisys was actually truly godawful. btw Does anyone else find this recent trend of ignoring prior sequels and providing a 'true' sequel slightly annoying? I'm thinking of Halloween 2018 which wasn't nearly as good as the original Halloween II (imo). If you're gonna do this sort of thing, make damn well sure that you really can produce something far superior.
