I'm lacking a little with my sci-fi viewing. I don't seem to have seen much before the fifties and actually find many sci-fi films from that period a little dull. The Angry Red Planet, Beyond the Time Barrier, The Time Travellers etc.
There's a lot of early sci-fi that I haven't seen either, and I have to say that (unlike horror) there is a fair bit of post-millennial sci-fi which I consider to be really excellent.

Oh, and Alphaville is fantastic. I'm not a huge Godard fan but really connect with the film in a lot of ways - it kind of plays out like a dystopian noir.

Great list Nordy.

With Empire and Escape from New York in both our top tens i'm thinking both have a good chance of a top ten placing come the final list.

Plus its a second number one for Blade Runner after SJ's list. Who knows how many more it'll get. No doubt B_E will come up with a method that ranks it at number 95.

No, I'm saving that method especially for The Lost Boys in next year's horror list.

That's annoying!

I forgot Norman J's sci-fi films - Inseminoid and Prey.

I included Prey in mine but Inseminoid missed the cut (along with so many others!)

You could always amend your list (again!) though
