What's your favourite pod movie?

Don Siegel's 1956 classic?

Or

Phillip Kaufman's 1978 classic?

Or

Abel Ferrara's 1993 offering Body Snatchers?

What version does it for you and why?

Battle it out here!

Kaufman's version for me I'm afraid.
One of the creepiest sci-fi movies ever made.
Made an impression on me since I was a pup!

I really enjoy all three versions, however Kaufman's version just edges it over the '56 original for me.

Oh don't get me wrong mate, all three are great,as you say the '78 version just edges it.

Who can remember the first time they saw this version?

Her approaching Sutherland.
Everyone ready for a happy reunion-she's found him again.
And then......:faint2:

Sorry, but you are all wrong

The best version is the original one

Chloe loves the one with Donald Sutherland and Spock, but it leaves me cold

But, of course, the original book by Jack Finney is the best of the lot!!!

I only saw the film recently. The whole time I was just expecting when that "scream" scene comes, cos it's all I had ever seen of it. Somehow that made the ending kinda underwhelming. :\ Enjoyed the movie otherwise a lot though!

As for the topic itself, I've still yet to see the other versions. Why is no one counting the 2007 Daniel Craig one called "The Invasion"?

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th February 2015 06:52 PM

Yeah The Invasion is well worth a watch as well.

I didn't mind The Invasion. Not a patch on the first three films but perfectly watchable. The critics hated it though.

You're right mate.
But hey,WTF do the critics know?

In fact,you know what?

Ain't seen it for years,so I'm off to watch it!;)

I thought it was woeful, similar to The Day the Earth Stood Still update.

My favourite is the 1978 one, but I think the 1956 original is a better film.
