EXCLUSIVE: BBC 'CURRENTLY PLANNING' TO SHOW DOCTOR WHO SPECIAL AT CHRISTMAS / TV Zone UK

"Exclusive: The BBC are 'currently planning' to show the Doctor Who special - titled Revolution Of The Daleks - on Christmas Day 2020.

A source told TVZoneUK that the BBC is hoping it will provide some much needed escapism over the festive period, and they're "currently planning" to air the special on Christmas Day, but a final decision is yet to be made.

The special episode was recorded in 2019, before the Coronavirus Pandemic. This means it will be one of the only new programmes to air over Christmas which will not show the cast needing to social distance.

The BBC previously announced that it will not air the traditional Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, however there will be a special 'best of' compilation instead - potentially opening up a slot on Christmas Day.

The special would become the first Doctor Who episode to be shown at Christmas since 2017. From 2018, the specials were moved to New Year's Day.

The episode stars Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor, Bradley Walsh as Graham, Mandip Gill as Yaz and Tosin Cole as Ryan. The one-off special will see the return of one of the Doctor’s biggest and most feared enemies - the Daleks. The BBC are yet to announce the supporting cast, however it is widely believed that John Barrowman is to reprise his role as Captain Jack Harkness.

When the BBC announced the special in March, Showrunner Chris Chibnall said: "We can’t leave the Doctor there! On that cliffhanger! Well, we did. But rest assured, the Doctor and her friends will be back for a one-off extended special around Christmas and New Year. (I don’t know when they’re going to put it on yet, otherwise we’d tell you!). There will be Daleks. There will be exterminations. Thrills, laughter, tears. You know. The usual. See you at the end of the year."

Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content, said: "I can't wait for the Doctor to go into battle with the ultimate enemy in this year's Daleks festive special."

Last week, it was revealed that production on Series 13 is to begin next month, with possible delay to the air dates. For more on this, click here.

The BBC's Christmas schedule will not be officially confirmed until mid-November, meaning the air date of the Doctor Who special is subject to change and is not confirmed."

Was desperate last night after turning off a couple of movies, so I decided to give The Faceless Ones another go, watched the first two episodes, this time the black and white version. Enjoyed it a lot more this time, will carry on with it next week.
