I was given this today. Dedicated to me (Hidden) from Joy Wilkinson. Joy is actually the daughter of my godfather's wife's sister. I won't tell a lie. I haven't seen her for years, since my twenties i guess but it was lovely of her to remember i liked Doctor Who. I do remember watching Four to Doomsday round at her house way, way, way back.

I’ve finished watching Terror Of The Autons from the new season 8 Blu Ray boxset.
The picture quality is fantastic ( particularly in the studio recordings ) and is even more evident when you see the quality of the clips in the ‘making of’ feature ).
The updated special effects on the Auton doll and Nestene attack on the radar dishes in part 4 are excellent - they are modern obviously, but are done in such a way as not to ‘jar’ with the story itself. They’ve also totally cleaned up the CSO effects, making the fuzzy lines virtually invisible as well as the fuzzy backgrounds much clearer.
It’s a great story of course, but these tweaks really are the finishing touch.

Also, on the bonus disc, there is fabulous feature about Terence Dicks fronted by Frank Skinner, which must be one of the very best features ever on any Doctor Who dvd / Blu-ray - and that’s saying something. An absolute gem.
