Best Doctor Who news in years.

It's actually going to be exciting viewing again and a return to those spine tingling episodes that only he really managed.

It's being produced by Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter's Bad Wolf Productions.

The news gets even better.

I did read a report at lunchtime that Matt Smith would be open to returning to the show.

Obviously i read it before this news came out but it possibly means at the least he'd be up for a multi Doctor 60th anniversary special.

I know everyone's doing cartwheels, but I find it vaguely depressing. I find his era massively overrated and barely watchable these days, it's very nuch a backwards step, and his take on the Doctor bore bugger all resemblance to the classic Doctor either. While the show going to an independent company is probably a good idea, the thing I find most amusing is the tacit admission of what a failure the current stuff has been, given RTD famously said he'd only come back if the show was on the verge of collapse!

With Russell T. back at the helm, I think that it's a shoo-in the Olly Alexander will be the next Doctor

After all, he has experience of working with The Daleks!
