But if it was sat in front of you in Tesco saying Limited Edition.....

It's been announced that David Bradley, best known for his portrayal of the caretaker Fitch in the Harry Potter films, has been cast as William Hartnell in the forthcoming 'An Adventure in Space and Time'

Of course, this isn't Bradley's first taste of 'Doctor Who' - he appeared as the main villain in the story 'Dinosaurs on a Spaceship'!

Not forgetting the great Brian Cox as Sydney Newman.

RIP Bernard Horsfall.

One of the great guest actors throughout the classic series of Who.

What is going to be interesting, tho, is finding out if Mr. Bradley is going to attempt an impression of Mr. Hartnell, or whether he is just going to be giving the suggestions of Mr. Hartnell's mannerisms

Talking of the first Doctor, I've just finished watching The Reign Of Terror. It's a terrific historical, with some amazing sets and wonderful performances from the four main leads, in particular William Hartnell and Jacqueline Hill.

On top of this, the animated missing episodes ( complete with the original soundtrack ) are an absolute joy.

Highly recommended.

I was never a fan of the historical stories

However, this story is on order from Amazon, so hopefully I will get it in the next few days

I wasn't a great fan of them either to be honest, but having watched them again, I'm really beginning to warm to them and indeed the whole Hartnell era. He ( Hartnell ) might have been an stroppy old sod ( but wasn't Tom Baker? ) but you could tell he loved being in the role.

As for the animations, they are stunning.
