Today being Beltane so in honour of this i watched The Daemons which takes place on Beltane aka May Day.

I didn't watch the five episode story as televised but the ninety minute film version which was put together by producer Barry Letts and director Christopher Barry to be shown during Christmas of 1971.

All that really seemed to be missing were dozens of scenes of UNIT troops arsing around with the heat barrier which slow the story down no end in the episodic version.

I thought it would be a quick watch until i realised there are more extras on this Blu-ray disc than there are on the disc with the official transmitted version so i may be some time with this.

Anyway make sure you light a candle now to bless the months ahead, protect you from the supernatural, and connect you with our folkloric past
