I've really enjoyed both stories so far, although I agree the 45 minute slot is always a drawback. There is also a definite darker tone to the series which harks back to the classic serial. Long may it continue. |

I'm happy the final is a two parter (so we'll have 90 minutes of story) but the Missy thing is annoying. I HATE it when story arcs invade the individual stories, with Season 31 being the worst contender (The two parter Weeping Angel story was great and then the whole crack in time thing gets in the way near the end!). Now the Bad Wolf one in Season 27 was okay as it was like an Easter Egg most of the time (when its written on the Tardis and when the chopper pilot says "Bad Wolf 1 descending"). You don't notice it the first time round and I only noticed when Boom Town made it obvious. That was fine as it didn't get in the way of the individual episodes or the story. I'd much rather have 6 stories per season in with two episodes each, so we can still have 12 episodes but also 6 stories that are not rushed or too fast paced. Into the Dalek could have been so much more if it had been a two parter I feel... |

Liked the self hating Dalek. Watched Delta & The Bannermen. Easily the most violent Who since The Brain Of Morbius IMO. Viewed it after The Expendables 2 etc. fitted quite well, I thought

Doctor Who: 8.02 Into The Dalek | Episode Review | Television @ The Digital Fix "It was really interesting to hear the Doctor's response to Clara calling him her carer. 'She cares so I don't have to.' Is that the statement for their relationship moving forward? Peter Capaldi continues to deliver a strong performance, more subdued, more calculated than what audiences are used to....but his inability to care about a human's death is a stark contrast to what we've seen before. (Could you imagine the guilt Tennant's Doctor would have felt?). It's another 'Classic Doctor' vibe we're discovering in Capaldi's."

I find stuff like this completely bewildering. It seems unlikely to me that Doctor Who would feature a human beheading anyway and, combined with the title, I'm wondering if it's a robot that gets decapitated. If so that's even more ridiculous. |
