"A Fix with Sontarans

The edition of Jim'll Fix It which was screened on BBC1 on 23/02/85 immediately after the second episode of The Two Doctors saw young fan Gareth Jenkins achieve his ambition of appearing alongside his favourite TV Time Lord. This particular Fix saw both Clinton Greyn and Tim Raynham don their Sontaran costumes again for a rematch with Colin Baker's Doctor, who is aided, rather uniquely, by Janet Fielding's Tegan. (1985)

NOTE: This has been removed from newer presses of the DVD"

As discussed in this thread - Seperating the art from the artist - it IS possible to take this single sequence, making young Gareth's dream come true, and divorce it from the hideous deeds done by the worst monster the Doctor has ever met... or does the fact that I can do this make me into the worst creature in the history of the forum?

I'm not sure why you are pointing this out or what you are getting at. It's on my dvd, everyone knows about it. Why is the website to be applauded for mentioning this rather than criticized for omitting a whole dvd in the case of Vengeance on Varos.

You (and I) have got collectors items because following the scandal, the DVD was withdrawn and that special feature was removed. Therefore anyone who has got the reissue version of 'The Two Doctors' doesn't know about it because they don't have that sketch!

I loved The Two Doctors when it was on tv. Great to see the Sontarans again and of course the Doctor and Jamie.

However subsequent viewings have shown up it's many and often embarrassing flaws.

I thought it was a good concept, but the execution was poorly done. The worst thing about it is the design of the Sontarans. For a race that is supposed to be cloned, Stike and Varl look totally different to each other

It's a real shock to see that it was written by Robert Holmes - someone who is normally very reliable when it comes to writing for the show, but he dropped the ball this time

Just wondering have you guys watched every episode produced, or do you collect just your favorites etc?

I've watched and have all of classic Who save the ones that don't exist anymore (though I've seen some official and fan animations of some of the missing eps). I love every era of the classic series, though I stopped collecting the new series after series 6 and gave up watching it toward the end of 8.

I think The Two Doctors is great too.

I have every story released to date on dvd from An Unearthly Child to The Husbands of River Song.

I'm including Power of the Daleks as it is sat under my Christmas tree.

The classic stories that aren't available i've tried to buy as original soundtracks. I just need to get Fury from the Deep and The Wheel in Space to complete the collection.

I aim to get the unofficial dvd's like Downtime and Daemos Rising next year.
