![]() Extremis. Thought it was brilliant until they decided to make it a computer simulation. It sort of made all i loved about it a waste of time. The alien monks were superb then yet again Moffat ruined it with an absurd ending. |

From what I saw of the episode, it seems a return to the overly complicated stories of old, but I will have to wait until next week, when we return to Nottingham, and I get to watch the recorded episode to see it properly

.......then Moffat threw his spanner in the works with his alien mind palace gambit which made the first 40 minutes (truly excellent imo) practically a waste of time. |

For me Extremis was by far the best episode of this series, maybe even the best in Capaldi's whole streak. I love these complex narratives and the theme was great. I saw no dodgy Moffat ending, but then, never jumped on that train really, I know it sometimes ends a bit too well, but intercourse the penguin, there are far worse things on the telly if you ask me ![]() I also felt good about Baldy (whatshisname?) for the first time, that allowance to kick is great! The non-surprise surprise was OK. Maybe I am too much of a fanboy to see the bad things talked about, but I hope I won't be as alone as in my lonesome crusade on the TWD side ![]()

Well now, Extremis as Dem said got a bit 'WTF?' but it did inject a proper bit of Sci-Fi with A.I. becoming aware first that they're real and then realizing the exact opposite, I thought if that had taken place at the start it would have given viewers longer with the story idea and maybe the A.I. doctor meeting the real doctor at the end, even with the swerve I thought it a fine episode, as an aside I wonder if the Beeb gave Moffat a slap and insisted that practically no one snuffs it cause it might upset the kiddies... and generate complaints. (just imagine if every character that you've blasted in FPS computer games existed as a self aware entity)

Saw Extremis last night. Was kind of expecting the worst, as there's a lot of hate for this on some of the forums, plus Missy is in it (not exactly my favourite character), but... actually I really enjoyed it, again. Was a bit confusing at some points, but it was all explained at the end, so fair play. I actually really liked the twist ending, actually. Good central SF idea, scary monsters, a sense of a genuine threat approaching Earth for the first time this year, all good! ![]() |
