The Doctor: What do you mean, "maybe"? What do you think it is, a space helmet for a cow?

That human / plant mutation still gives me the creeps and makes my skin crawl. My scalp is itching from posting the pic.

As it's the thirtieth anniversary of McCoy's time starting as the Doctor I decided last week that I would go through his stories again. I got properly back into Doctor Who when McCoy took over after the odd choices of Colin Bakers time. I am of course going through the stories episodically.

Time and the Rani is a strange beast, all the elements are there but somehow it just doesn't work. The Rani is an interesting character, the Tetraps are well realised monsters it's just the plotting and story as whole. The Rani's plan is somewhat silly.

Paradise Towers on first broadcast I liked a lot, until we get the Zombie Bryers which completely ruins an otherwise well made show. Having seen Wheatley's take on The Ballard of the Highrise I have a new appreciation of the story.

Next up is Delta which I haven't watched since initial broadcast. I haven't even watched the dvd despite owing it since it was released!

I like Delta and the Bannermen. Despite it's clunky title and people's hatred of Ken Dodd's brief appearance, it's a story which has a brutally high body count and quite a nasty streak running through it.

Keep up the good work, Jamiouse. Look forward to your views on all McCoy's tenure.

Have you ever sat through one of Ken Dodds live shows? I did the other year, my partner wanted to see him again before he died. Ken Dodd not my partner. It's four + hours of my life I won't ever get back! Ken was passable and occasionally funny, the halftime acts were truly terrible! Ken Dodd is an example of JNT's stunt casting which occasionally worked, but more often didn't.

I've seen him twice. The last time was about 15 years ago. So he was quite a bit younger. Like you say, it's a four hour gig. I do like him though.
