Listened to The Smugglers again. I love it. In a way i appreciate it more with it not being in the archives as i imagine what it looks like which i'm sure will translate better than the actual episode as i picture it like the Hammer film Captain Clegg rather than painted studio backdrops. |

I'm pretty sure The Smugglers had an extensive amount of location shooting in Cornwall. |

Watched The Dominators today for the first time in 2 and a half years or so. Whats the issue with it? Don't get me wrong its not the best story I've ever seen but its not terrible. I guess if you look at the negatives yes the Quarks are a bit weak. I struggled very much to understand as word they were saying. They're not the worst: they at least do stuff that's threatening unlike the Yeti in Abominable Snowmen before they get their well needed upgrade. Dulkis as a planet is a complete joke and so is their civilisation. The whole of Dulkis deserves to be invaded and quite frankly their entire population wiped out. Harsh but their attitude and weak stance on ANYTHING that threatens them is laughable. Speaking of threats... I liked the two Dominators. Usually you'd have one in charge and one following orders and that's it. Not here: the second in command repeatedly disobeys orders and spars with his superior. Its fun to watch and never dull unlike, er, the Dulcians and their weird society. I loved the regulars here. Zoe is already accepted as a member of the team and they bounce off each other well with good banter. Jamie proves that he is the best male companion since Ian, leading the fight against the Quarks and doing an outstanding job. The Doctor satisfies as per usual... Overall is it perfect? No but at least stuff is always happening in it. I found it far more easy to sit through than most of the historicals and Snowmen and Wheel from the last season. I look forward to The Mind Robber... |

It's not a 'reading book', being nothing more than a catalogue of dates and places, but it's helpful when planning days out and holidays!

Did you realise that Androgum is an anagram of Gourmand, which the dictionary defines as: "a person who enjoys eating and often eats too much."

He'd have been better writing a decent story rather than playing word games.
