It's good that it's a late time - hopefully it'll be getting dark when it is screened

There is nothing worse than watching 'Doctor Who' in bright sunlight!

A couple of promo artworks being used to promote the fiftieth anniversary.

Note the original titles used to colour the Doctor Who logo.

According to The Sun.

Billie Piper may return to our screens in ‘Doctor Who’ for the 50th anniversary celebration of the show. Matt Smith hinted the award-winning actress, who played Time Lord companion Rose Tyler until 2010, could be set to come back for the 90 minute special featuring ‘throwback homages’ to the past. He said, ‘If I wanted a companion from the past I would say Rose because I am good friends with Billie.’

This was the cover for the magnificent Doctor Who Monster Book. As used by Fangoria in their issue.

At the time of its release its pictures were absolutely fascinating because if you never saw the broadcast stories they were the only document of these wonderful creations and fuelled my imagination no end.

Unfortunately thanks to vhs then dvd the reality is a little disappointing.

More memories, Demdike!

The Monster Book was indeed a revelation at the time. I particularly remember the two page pic of the Cybermen walking down the steps at St Paul's Cathedral being a highlight. Mind you, having seen the story itself in recent years, The Invasion is still bloody brilliant.

Second! In my opinion, the deffinitive Cyberman story.
A touch of Quatermass about it, it was latter referenced in Gordon rennie's Caballistics Inc. A comic book series in Canon with both the aformentioned franchises.
