Oh no, I knew that. BUT, I don't trust the BBC. From their comment on the back of the Spearhead BD sleeve "this story is the first to be upgraded to stunning HD", I think they'll try transferring the videotaped stories, and if they're happy with the results, they'll release them.

Even something recorded on videotape will look better on blu-ray if enough care is taken transferring it. Maybe not a big improvement, but would still be better. Watch this space!

Nope. That was my first thought as soon as I read the blurb on the back. I doubt they'd look as good as Spearhead From Space, but if they were even close, I'd be really happy.

I've heard rumours a while back they may put entire seasons onto BD, as they have the available disc space.

It was just a rumour though.

I wonder if people would rebuy the episodes if release on bluray? I mean the difference in the video-shot scenes would be negligible surely?

Maybe they'll just release a Doctor Who: All Of The Location Shots. Now In Full HD boxset?

If they manage to get a complete season BD thing going, I might buy them, just to show my DW appreciation. I have only little of the DVDs so that would be an advantage - the price should be fair too! And why not release a special collector's box for all seasons to be released? You know that kind of box that is bigger in the inside, would make storing the stuff so much easier

I now have every DW dvd released to date but I really don't think I would upgrade all these to blu-ray, the dvds for me really are good enough.

What I would rather have is blu-rays of poorer quality dvd releases such as the Blakes 7 series or full uncut episodes of Only Fools and Horses, either of those and I wouldn't think twice about re-buying.

I also have every 'Doctor Who' classic adventure which has been released on DVD, but I don't think I will be bothering with the Blu-Ray version of "Spearhead From Space" because I already have the original release, and the one from the "Mannequin Mania" box set!
