God help us!

That's what totally shocked me with Cold War, the unmasking of the Ice Warrior. I love the mystery of the unknown. Not knowing what the Ice Warriors look like underneath. It gives them that unique feeling of total menace. Well, all of that got chucked in the bin by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. Thanks to them, the Ice Warriors loose what made them special. Now we have the possibility that these Ice Warriors will look more human than alien. I certainly didn't like what Moffat did with those Sillurians either. I prefer the more alien look than the human face look.

I'm dreading the unveiling when the episode arrives.....

What would the late Brian Hayles make of this? Good job he's bit the dust.

Hopefully Moffat and co want to go out in a blaze of glory not with fans demanding they be hung from the gallows.

Never say never Dem.

The BBC will have a PC check list to go through first. Nationality: American will be quite low on the list.

Hopefully.

But it's going to be rather intriguing just to see how Steven Moffat delivers the goods. Are the stories going to be far better in terms of execution for Moffat's final throw of the dice? Or will they just be good in parts or just a load of hot-air in the final analysis. Only time will tell I suppose.

I'm a cynical old bugger, but I just wish that they would leave these Doctor Who monster designs alone. The Ice Warriors certainly don't need altering.

We'll see....

Yeah. The BBC are really into being PC alright. As long as the new Doctor isn't Donald Trump Jnr., we're be fine.

Although i did enjoy it, the final series of Sherlock went up it's own backside and was a far cry from the first two series, and that's pretty much what SM's done with Doctor Who.

Like him as a show runner or not, at least Rt-D's tenure was consistent.

To a degree your right with Russell T. Davies. I'm not one to really fully support what Davies did when he was brought in by the BBC to resurrect Dr Who. But there was a clear consistency with how Davies delivered Who.

Don't even get me started on Series 4 of Sherlock. Pile of absolute crap.

So with the news the Ice Warriors are returning. What's your favourite story featuring the Martian marauders?

Only five stories so it shouldn't be too tough.

The Ice Warriors
The Seeds of Death
The Curse of Peladon
The Monster of Peladon
Cold War
