Just one thought on the newest episode (which I liked mostly, if you exclude that horrible noise to lure the spiders...): It cannot be a coincidence that the episode is called "Arachnids in the UK" on the 41st anniversary of the release of the Sex Pistols album Never Mind the Bollocks ;-)

That's me at the 80's now in my marathon.

Season 17 wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. The presence of Destiny of the Daleks and City of Death (the latter being the only masterpiece since Talons of Weng Chiang, all the way back in 1977) elevated it above Season 15 and probably above 16 (EDIT: actually City of Death alone is better than anything in Season 16 so its above that one as well. Its closest rival, and it is a good Story to be fair, is probably The Ribo's Operation. Stone's of Blood was pretty good too)

I am glad to be at the 80's (though technically the final 2 episodes of The Horns of Nimon, which was nowhere near as bad as its reputation suggests, came out in the early 80's). The 70's were great for the first 7 years (and I FLEW through them, just over a few weeks or so the Pertwee era took. Sometimes I got through 10 of those episodes a day) but I've been stuck with 1977-1979 for months now. Its really been a chore, forcing myself to watch some of them (Underworld, Armageddon Factor). But I've still to see a few from Tom's final Season that I haven't watched before and I've seen barely any Davison. I look forward to it.

Of all the stories they could mention they just happen to mention Marco Polo.

If that has turned up and gets a release next year they can cancel Nu-Who for all i care.

I'm all for seeing Marco Polo. A nice Blu-ray release wouldn't go a miss. As to whether all the episodes have been found or just a few, it'll be the Doctor Who find of the early part of the 21st Century.

Let's hope the BBC don't wreck the DVD/Blu-ray cover with that vile Fem Who logo.

I don't even want to see it on a reversible sleeve. It pains me to have that muck on a truly classical Dr Who story that was masterful and brilliantly written, compared to the junk that's being served up to all these PC, diversity driven, supposed Whovian's of today.
