Just rewatched Fear Her for the first time in ages.

Its far from the worst. Its not even "that" bad. Don't get me wrong, it just barely makes it over the line to be classed as average, but one of the all time worst? No way.

10 and Rose work well together as always (and that's an issue with Jodie and co: had it been the current TARDIS crew this would have been hard to get through). The idea behind the Story is a good one, albeit one which could have been executed a lot better. One of the highlights was the drawing of Chloe's dad coming to life: I'd like to have seen more of that, drawings killing people and being a threat. Not just humans, but potentially anything from Chloe's imagination... Or even, maybe she could have somehow got into the Doctors mind, seeing all that he's seen, allowing her to draw Drashigs, Zygons, Macra etc, as well as the big monsters like the Daleks or Cybermen (even if they're both an episode away). I just find the concept of that to be amazing, drawings of old enemies coming to life as opposed to that scribble monster thing that barely does anything.

I LOVED the ending, where the Doctor basically finishes the Olympics. Overall, its just a 6/10, with the final 5 minutes, 10/Rose and the Story saving it from being below average with a 5 or lower. As brief as the actual threat was in this Story with the drawing coming to life at the end, at least this was some kind of threat due to the direction and build up. Certainly more threatening than anything from Series 11.

I haven't ranked anything from Series 1-2 as being less than a 6/10 and I already know 3 and 4 will be the same having seen them a lot (Series 2 was the one I re watched the least, aside from the finale). RTD was a genius as showrunner. The most consistent the show has ever been since Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks were producer/head writer.

Doctor Who over the years: Episode quotes
Frontios – Part 1
Range: Paranoia. Your minds are being eaten away by the scale of the disaster we call Frontios. Can't you see this man is here to help us?
Plantagenet: I say treachery, Mister Range. Are you guilty too?
(Range walks away, shaking his head.)
The Doctor: You know, we can sort all this out in no time at all if everyone just stays calm. Now please, come and see the Tardis. As an invasion weapon it's about as offensive as a chicken vol au vent.
Frontios – Part 2
Range: What do you think you're doing?
Tegan: I'm, I'm trying to get the drawer open, if you really want to know.
Range: Curiosity is dangerous on Frontios.
Tegan: Not as dangerous as ignorance.
Frontios – Part 3
(The Gravis speaks to the prisoner in the cage.)
Gravis: The work of excavation is our task. Beneath the soil we can expand and populate the whole of Frontios. Do you understand? It is important that you understand. Speak.
Plantagenet: We will defeat your goal.
Gravis: You do not know our goals. I have described our means. Once we have full control of Frontios, our plans are only just beginning.
Plantagenet: You are evil. We will fight you to the last.
Gravis: This is not a war, Plantagenet. It is a cooperation. You will see.
Plantagenet: The colonists of Frontios will never cooperate with you.
Gravis: And yet they do. We Tractators have devised an economical technology of excavation, but it needs a captive human mind to drive it.
Plantagenet: Captives? Slaves?
Gravis: You will see. You will see. Our old driver is nearing the end of his useful powers, but now we have another to take his place. Do we not, Plantagenet?
Frontios – Part 4
The Doctor: Now listen, you two. If the Time Lords ever hear about our little trip to Frontios, there'll be serious trouble.
Turlough: What would have happened if we hadn't been there, Doctor?
Tegan: Well, the Tardis engines would be working properly, for one thing.
The Doctor: Oh, there's nothing wrong with them.
(He hits the console.)
Tegan: Then why are they making that funny noise?
Turlough: We're going far too fast, Doctor. Stop the engines!
The Doctor: No, no, no, leave them. They're all right.
(There is a whumph! sound and the Tardis judders. Everyone hangs on to the console.)
Turlough: What's happening?
Tegan: The Gravis?
The Doctor: Oh no, this is something much more powerful. We're being pulled towards the middle of the universe. I'm trying to pull against it.
Tegan: Against what?
The Doctor: I don't know. I think we're about to find out.

Not a good picture of Liz

Her nose makes it looks like she is channeling Edward and Tubbs!

Doctor Who over the years: Episode quotes
Resurrection Of The Daleks – Part 1
Calder: It's heavy static. Can't get through to HQ.
The Doctor: A side effect of the Time Corridor.
Archer: Be quiet. (Tegan knocks something over.) Who's that?
The Doctor: Don't harm her, please. She's a friend.
Tegan: Sorry, Doctor. Look!
(There is a purple glow by the wall, then a Dalek appears.)
Archer: What is it?
The Doctor: A Dalek. Take cover!
(Everyone scatters.)
Dalek: Exterminate. Exterminate. Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!
Resurrection Of The Daleks – Part 2
Davros: Who are you?
Lytton: Commander Lytton.
Davros: Commander? My Daleks do not need troops.
Lytton: You'd still be in prison or dead if it weren't for my men.
Davros: You speak as though my Daleks are no longer capable of war.
Lytton: A lot has happened during your imprisonment.
Davros: The war with the Movellans is over?
Lytton: Yes, although casualties were very high.
Davros: It is to be expected.
Lytton: I'm talking about Dalek casualties.
Davros: Dalek casualties?
Lytton: They lost, Davros. They were totally defeated.
Resurrection Of The Daleks – Part 3
Dalek: You must not touch the equipment.
The Doctor: Without the threat of death, you're quite powerless, aren't you.
Dalek: You will obey.
(Stien has put on the Trooper uniform.)
Stien: It is unwise to provoke the Daleks, Doctor.
The Doctor: However you respond is seen as an act of provocation. I know the Daleks of old. And Davros. I assume he's about here somewhere.
Stien: You only invite trouble with your questions.
The Doctor: Do you mean it can get worse?
Stien: Oh, yes. The Daleks are very capable of devising painful and undignified ways of dying.
The Doctor: But not yet. The Daleks need my brainwaves intact, don't they.
Resurrection Of The Daleks – Part 4
Turlough: Are you sure all the duplicates are unstable?
The Doctor: Oh, yes. Yes, given time they'll all be free of Dalek control.
Turlough: Shouldn't we inform Earth's authorities?
The Doctor: Er yes. Yes, indeed. Come along.
Tegan: I'm not coming with you.
The Doctor: I beg your pardon?
Tegan: I'm tired of it.
The Doctor: What's the matter?
Tegan: A lot of good people have died today. I think I'm sick of it.
The Doctor: You think I wanted it this way?
Tegan: No. It's just that I don't think I can go on.
The Doctor: You want to stay on Earth.
Tegan: My Aunt Vanessa said, when I became an air stewardess, if you stop enjoying it, give it up.
The Doctor: Tegan
Tegan: It's stopped being fun, Doctor. Goodbye. Turlough.
(They shake hands.)
Turlough: Goodbye.
Tegan: I'll miss you both.
The Doctor: No, no, don't leave, not like this.
Tegan: I must. I'm sorry. Goodbye.
(Tegan runs out of the warehouse in tears.)
The Doctor: It's strange. I left Gallifrey for similar reasons. I'd grown tired of their lifestyle. It seems I must mend my ways. Come along.
(The Doctor and Turlough enter the Tardis and it dematerialises. Tegan returns.)
Tegan: Brave heart, Tegan. Doctor, I will miss you.

This scene definitely showcases Terry Molloy's fantastic performance as Davros. Everyone says how great Michael Wisher was and indeed he was but i think Molloy was just as good. The way he turns from complete confidence in the Dalek victory to almost gagging and gasping for breath as he splutters out the words 'Dalek casualties?' before regaining his calmness again is quite brilliant.

Today sees the publication of the latest Doctor Who Magazine which celebrates fifty years since Pertwee got the role as the third Doctor. So here's a great publicity shot of Jon (and friend) from the classic 1972 story The Sea Devils
