Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker confirms her future on the series
Oh, brilliant

Jodie Whittaker isn't going to be turning over the keys to the TARDIS on Doctor Who just yet.

The Thirteenth Doctor and her fam are only partially through the 12th series, but it looks like the return of The Master (Sacha Dhawan) won't be finishing them off after all.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly this week, Jodie let the big news slip – perhaps accidentally – that she will be back for a 13th series.

"I'm doing another season," she said. "That might be a massive exclusive that I'm not supposed to say, but it's unhelpful for me to say [I don't know] because it would be a massive lie!"

She then spoke of Doctor Who in general: "I absolutely adore it. At some point, these shoes are going to be handed on, but it's not yet. I'm clinging on tight!"

Digital Spy has reached out to the BBC for more information about the status of the rest of the cast for series 13.

Before fans get too excited about the next series, Jodie teased that The Doctor's upcoming run-in with the Cybermen is going to be unlike any of their previous encounters.

"[The Cybermen have] got a lot of presence on set," Whittaker said. "When they move in unison, it's incredible. It's really exciting."

This coming weekend's episode features more familiar monsters, when a platoon of Judoon nearly cause a riot in Gloucester as they arrive in search of an intergalactic fugitive.

Doctor Who airs on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US.

maybe its misinformation was a ;ot of that going around before they choose her, if this is not her last as i'm hoping lets hope next season is.

weirdly halfway through the episode i was thinking wouldn't it be cool if they were anti-matter creatures like on Planet of Evil?

I was hoping they were an updated race of Vardans. As that's what they kinda looked like to me.

Anti-matter creatures would have been cool as well.

Just goes to show the lack of understanding Chinballs has of classic Who.

He could have used either, delighted old school fans and newbies would be none the wiser.

Second doctor number 5? That list is a joke just for that.

No matter what column \ paper etc write list there always going to be a debate or completely wrong in someone opinion , I just saw it and posted it and see if people agreed. Just for a bit off a harmless debate .
Vast majority of people will always see Tom baker as favourite and best doctor who

i find it impossible to rank them except i agree Tom Baker is first and Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker are in the right places. i don't think Paul McCann should be compared as there isn't enough material to make a judgement. the others, for me, are just impossible to put in any order as i keep changing my mind.

My ranking of the Doctors. As of 25th Jan 2020. (This could change the next time i watch an episode)

Matt Smith
Tom Baker
William Hartnell
David Tennant
Sylvester McCoy
Jon Pertwee
Peter Capaldi
Patrick Troughton
Peter Davison
Colin Baker
Christopher Eccleston
Paul McGann

As Rob said, McGann's problem is complete lack of screen time. If he did a series now based on the quality of his Big Finish performances i imagine he'd move top five.

According to the press both Tosin Cole and Mandip Gil have new series coming up, Tosin's in America, so it's looking very likely they'll be leaving after this series.
