For an episode that's generally thought of as lower echelon Who the writing was superb, with outstanding interplay between the Doctor, Rose, Jack, Mickey and Margaret Slitheen.

it's a solid episode which i like better than the two part slitheen episodes. and it's a good example of DW exploring 'issues' - in this case the morality of capital punishment - without being preachy.

i was minded to watch an older episode also. in this case, it was Heaven Sent which had really impressed me in the Capaldi era. watching it now its still brilliant. i was interested to see if other viewers had liked it as much as me so had a look at the imdb rating. 9.6 - totally a stonewall classic.

Haha... i just don't get along with Heaven Sent. It had a great location and strong imagery but the repetitiveness bored me first time round and when i watched it on dvd i fell asleep.

Don't rate Hell Bent either, in fact that whole season bar a few episodes i really wasn't keen on.
