The novelisation of City of Death was released in paperback form in 2018 with a cover in the style of classic Doctor Who Target book artist Chris Achilleos.

The novel by James Goss of the TV story of the same name written under the pen name David Agnew by Douglas Adams and Graham Williams during a last minute rewrite of the script A Gamble With Time written by David Fisher. Featuring Tom Baker as the Doctor and Lalla Ward as Romana.
