I watched the season 26 limited blu-ray version of Ghost Light last night.

The dvd was quite poor in it's picture quality. I don't think it was film grain as such more like a hazy image full stop. Hopefully you can see what i mean from this still.

The restored blu-ray version is so much cleaner and sharper and the haze is gone.. It now looks like this.

I was amazed at the difference and always wondered why Ghost Light looked so poor, especially as the rest of the season looked fine and it's one of my favourite stories, so i'm delighted to have bought this when it came out in Jan 2020.

Maureen O'Brien played Vicki, she was a companion of the First Doctor and a regular in the programme in Seasons 2 and 3 in 1965. Her last name was never revealed during the series.

Geoffrey Palmer contributes greatly to my favourite James Bond pre-credits sequence in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Palmer's Admiral Roebuck orders the Navy to fire a Cruise missile from HMS Chester at an arms deal taking place with 'half the world's terrorists' in Pakistan's Khyber Pass. Bond is close to the scene and reports there are two nuclear torpedoes at the site, and orders the Cruise missile aborted.

But it's too late, it can't be stopped.

Bond (Pierce Brosnan) launches into action...

Roebuck - "What the hell's your man doing?"

M (Judi Dench) sternly glances at Roebuck "His Job!"

Thrilling stuff!
