That is the William Hartnell story that I want to see the most

I think that Doctor Who works really well when it moves into the realms of surrealism, and everything that is considered to be 'right and normal' is thrown out of the window

I agree - The Mind Robber is one of my favourite Pat Troughton stories.

From a different perspective i don't agree.

I don't rate The Mind Robber at all, nor what i've heard of The Celestial Toymaker. Other out there stories such as Warriors Gate and Heaven Sent are also not to my taste.

Give me historicals like The Romans over The Celestial Toymaker any day. And The Mind Robber isn't in the same league as The Invasion, Power of the Daleks, The Web of Fear or Fury from the Deep.

I'm not saying they are poor stories or anyone who loves them is wrong, no, nothing like that, purely that i don't rate them.

That's the beauty of Doctor Who. Something for everyone if they give it a chance.

When it comes to Pat Troughton, The Invasion is the tops - an absolute classic and still the best ever Cybermen story, imo.
