Fans of the Ralph McQuarrie concept art and ideas for the original movie should check this out.
This is bloody amazing. I came out in goose bumps watching this.

I really like this: Mark Kermode on Twitter:

A beginners guide:
1) Loved or hated SW:TLJ? Great!
2) Expressed your opinion forcefully? Go for it!
3) Engaged in enthusiastic debate on its merits/faults? Excellent!
4) Accused positive reviewers/fans of being paid/stupid? SMEGHEAD!
Hope that clarifies!

It is important to bear in mind for any film as evoking a strong reaction is good, expressing that reaction well and in an articulate and passionate way is even better. Being rude towards other people about it is not an appropriate response.

I edited the post after in order to show what lessons it has for all films, not just The Last Jedi, but any movie and something I want to do more of this year, which is to post passionate reviews about things I recently watched and engage in debate about the reviews which others have posted.

As I said, it's something I'm going to take as a learning experience to influence the content and frequency of my reviews here.

Went to see The Last Jedi, with my 12 year old son, both of us really enjoyed it. There is no better feeling than looking across at your child at a WOW moment in a film and sharing it then discussing it afterwards.

I personally feel that the original 1977 New Hope changed a lot of lives, childhoods (it did mine) set benchmarks etc. etc. it created a culture for film not dissimilar to The Beatles for music.

It won't happen again and I think a lot of people hope for it at every new release so they too can feel part of the 1977 feeling and what came after. It aint gonna happen.

TLJ did not change my life, nor did I expect it too, I am just glad the universe I enjoy so much is rolling along, even if the quality will never match the first 3.

Long may the Star Wars Universe continue.

I think Kermode wants the star wars police to get that message as well.

The first Star-Wars-parody ever filmed, from 1977!

My local Poundland had these in the toy section, looked pretty good(at £1 each) so picked up a Falcon, Tie and a X-Wing for £3.
