Default THE LAST STARFIGHTER 1984 Nick Castle

I watched this on DVD the other night and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it,as I hadn't seen it since the days of VHS.

A likeable cast make this ideal Sunday afternoon viewing.

Plus what other film gives you Halloween III's Connal Cochrane in an easter egg mask?

And whoever though the man who played 'The Shape' in a certain 70's seminal slasher film would direct some cute sci-fi adventure?

Strange this ain't out on UK DVD,or is it???

Any other fans?

You said it and what about the vessel's 'Death Blossom' mode?

An enjoyable feelgood film with an intrepid Craig Safan score and memorable performances from late, great old pros Robert Preston and Dan O'Herlihy. Also, doesn't Bruce (Re-Animator) Abbot briefly feature in TLS too?

Criminally neglected on U.K. shores and i own both the old and new DVDs as well as the BR.

Don't forget the movie's impressive cinema and VHS artwork.

Too true and whatever happened to using good ol' fashioned illustrations? Has the much missed medium been outlawed or something?

Imo TLS has always been sadly forsaken in the U.K. in favour of earlier CGI outing Tron. To my knowledge, Nick Castle's wonderful sci-fi shoot 'em up has only seen two British video releases. The first on the short-lived Heron label and later a sell through edition issued by Channel 5. TV broadcasts have been badly panned 'n' scanned and i find it an injustice TLS is still denied both DVD and BR lifelines in the U.K.
