I could watch Mad Max and Max Max 2 every day and never tire of them. Even Beyond Thunderdome is highly entertaining.

Adore the first one.

Like the second one.

Though I loved it as a teen, I find the third embarrassingly unwatchable nowadays.

The first is an all-time Australian masterpiece.

Cool

I'm sure you guys know, but MAD MAX 2 has always been missing about four minutes of cuts in the UK, the Blu box set(don't know about the single disc) has the full 91 minute job. Funny thing is ITV4 show the longer uncut version. Not the bbfc this time, they released the cut version all over Europe on video and disc(the box also includes MAD MAX with it's original Aussie dialogue as well as the yankified version) so the Blu box set is the way to go. If you watch it and see "Wez" pull a crossbow bolt out of his arm it's all good(that's missing in the previous versions, as are numerous head-butts...no really) Mel's finest hour.

What Blu-Ray boxset is this? I've got the single discs of Mad Max 2 (UK release) and the Australian release of Mad Max.

The only uncut version of MM2 I own is the original VHS rental. It also had the Pappagallo line; "...I'll leave them nothing that you can be certain". The MM2 Blu-Ray (as far as I can tell) is uncut apart from that one part of the speech following the marauder's demands.

Incidentally, has anyone got the TV version that is a sanitised version of the movie with added footage, such as the feral kid playing with the dog?

I have the single-disc release of the second film from the US and can confirm it's definitely uncut. Was definitely a lot less than four minutes missing out of previous releases - merely seconds actually and the X-rated Warner tape released here in the UK was the full uncut version. Every subsequent UK release and ALL US releases prior to the Blu-ray were the cut R-rated version.

Tina Turner was the only reason for me to watch the third Mad Max...

Greetings!
