The slightly-crushed blacks are certainly an improvement over the notably-elevated blacks. I wouldn't be surprised if they could have manipulated the gamma values just a bit more to lose less shadow...

All of the DVDs in the last several years - Dutch, Japanese, French and so on - have been 100% complete and uncut. Only the old Roan Group LD master which was recycled several years back is missing...

BU certainly has less DNR than Arrow's release. The grain structure looks almost identical to that found on the Wild Side transfer, and I doubt both of them managed to fake grain in exactly the same...
