The old classic stories often ran for at least 4 or more episodes. Troughton's The War Games ran to 10 and Hartnell's (mostly missing) The Daleks Masterplan ran to a walloping 12 episodes.

Yes sadly this is one of the victims of the BBC wipe. Only episode 4 (of the 4 episodes) still exists. The main casualties came during 1966-68....

Hartnell was my favourite but I agree about Troughton. Only 6 complete stories out of 21 survive which is unforgivable. He was a fine successor to Hartnell, just as Pertwee was an excellent successor...
