There was just something so tight and compelling...

There was just something so tight and compelling about his writing style in The Langoliers that worked so very well - something I find lacking in most of his post-80s work.

I have never seen the adaptation of The Langoliers, but the story itself was one of the few post-Christine (roughly the point where I think he started losing it, or I started losing interest in him*)...
