Greatest Shameless Release Of 2012

So, the end of the year (and possibly the world) is nearly upon us. It's around this time, that people reflect on the past year, so what better time to discuss this year's Shameless output!

What has been your favourite Shameless release of the year? Have you got all the releases that came out?

Let us know here!

Demdike@Cult Labs 6th December 2012 05:32 PM

Four Flies on Grey Velvet.

End of.

Rik 6th December 2012 05:44 PM

I've only seen FFOGV and DD so I can't really vote because one bored me to tears and the other suffered from a weird stuttering throughout, so it's not really been Shamelesses year for me I'm afraid

Hawkmonger 6th December 2012 05:57 PM

Well, 2 truely origial releases, 2 reboxing, and 2 re-releases froma label Argent bought out. Not a great plathera really?
Saying that, the Four Flies on grey Velvet DVD is lovely. Haven't seen the BD yet but might get one when the price goes down.

Easily.

C'mon Shameless, we want some new and exciting titles for 2013! :pop2:

Justin101 6th December 2012 07:20 PM

I hadn't realised how poor the Shameless releases were this year until looking at this thread!
Four Flies easily if that's all that was on offer!

PaulD 6th December 2012 09:26 PM

Four Flies fo' sho'. Has been a pretty slow year for them though.

platostotal 6th December 2012 10:17 PM

What Dem said, FFOGV wins over DD, better times ahead.

ReturnToZero 7th December 2012 01:34 PM

Best release: Four Flies on Grey Velvet (BD) even if it has some flaws.
Best film: The House with Laughing Windows

4 new releases for 2012 (that including re-releases). If they continue like this we don't need them...

harryd 7th December 2012 05:10 PM

Four Flies by a country mile

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 7th December 2012 05:21 PM

1.EASILY Four Flies
2.DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE
3.AMSTERDAMNED
4.HOUSE WITH THE LAUGHING WINDOWS

harryd 7th December 2012 05:24 PM

Personally though Dellamorte was boring, say laughing windows and amsterdamned I enjoyed equally

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 7th December 2012 05:26 PM

Amsterdamned is cuckoo!

Does that mean bad??

I really quite enjoyed it...not the best film ever but still a pretty fun couple of hours.

Nostalgic 8th December 2012 12:02 PM

Four Flies, DD & Laughing Windows! It's a tie!

Sam 13th December 2012 10:24 PM

Four Flies for me too, although I really enjoyed Amsterdamned too.

Rassilon 14th December 2012 07:41 PM

Don't know if Footprints or Frightened Woman were released in 2012, but I saw them then and thought they were amazing. Loved the work Shameless done with House on the Edge of the Park too.

As for Amsterdamned, HWLW, and 4FOGV...

I am getting these movies for Xmas, and I'm sure they will be good. Should be a nice yellow xmas. Like yellow snow but tasty.

None of the afformentioned where released this year sadly. Though House on the Edge of the Park was released last year.

Rassilon 14th December 2012 09:20 PM

Yeah thought so. Still awesome. I'm still blown away after seeing The Frightened Woman. Esp the bit in the car with the weird train going by

A serious contender for my favourite Shameless release thus far.

Delirium 21st December 2012 02:28 PM

I think likely Four Flies too - and the blu is a bonus, I really enjoyed it. Although when was Femina Ridens released, as I enjoyed that even more. Great film!

That said, I didn't vote Amsterdamned, Dellamorte or House with the Laughing Windows as I already have them in other forms. I'll likely pick up the shameless ones someday, but in no hurry.

Gojirosan 21st December 2012 03:00 PM

Meh...

Only one I bought was Four Flies On Grey Velvet. Haven't watched it all yet.

Wishing I had not bothered and bought that ridiculously expensive German BD of it for the most part.

I might buy ...Laughing Windows at some point.

...so....er...

Abstain.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st December 2012 05:06 PM

I wonder what goodies Shameless have up their sleeves for next year....:eyebrows:

Wait? You saying you didn't know they're releasing it?

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st December 2012 05:34 PM

Didn't know it was set in stone, why?

As they never released much this year,I never ventured on their boards much.

Except for the SS Experiment Camp rant of course.......

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st December 2012 05:35 PM

Don't see a thread on it either....or owt on Amazon....

Surprised you haven't heard about them releasing it. But if it's the same transfer as the already available disc with the awful blown out contrast, they can keep it.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 21st December 2012 05:59 PM

Hi everyone,

Just a few words from Shameless' HQ about the replies on this thread :)

Quote:

Shameless Screen Entertainment - "We are sorry to read that some fans feel somehow let down by the amount of releases of 2012. To us one BD release (Four Flies), 4DVDs (Four Flies, Cemetery Man, Amsterdamned and House with Laughing Windows) & 2 box sets (Shameless Sexploitation & Pop Erotica Box Set) aren't entirely a non-release year for Shameless which is a relatively small enterprise. Our main consideration has always been the quality of each release, starting with materials sourced for those (like missing footage etc..) and that's what we hope we've achieved with our 2012 releases (For example Four Flies, the “Missing” Argento film finally released – AFTER TWENTY YEARS – with missing scenes AND the never-heard-since-original-theatrical-release proper, pin-dropping-sharp, DTS audio..)

We have more yellow goodies on the way for 2013, however we unfortunately cannot disclose any news yet, as we're still negotiating on these.

Also, looking at recent posts, we’re glad to see fans talking about which yellow boxes they would like to see in their stockings... And, yes, we could not agree more at what an amazing film Frightened Woman is – we never would encourage this practice, but this is one film script that could maybe “suffer” a remake?"

May 2013 be the most Shameless year yet!

ReturnToZero 21st December 2012 06:32 PM

Jan: Death Laid an Egg
Feb: Your Vice is a Locked Room...
Mars: Scalps
April: Death Smiled at Murder
May: Shocking Dark
June: Death Weekend
July: Death Walks on High Heels
August: Death Walks at Midnight
Sept: Massacre at Central High
Oct: Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion
Nov: The House that Screamed
Dec: Rome Armed to the Teeth

Keep this schedule and Shameless will be the label of the year for a decade.

bdc 21st December 2012 07:37 PM

I don't consider the box repacks new releases...nor do I really consider the re-releases of Amsterdamned and House with Laughing Windows new releases.

So that only leaves Four Flies and Cemetery Man. ;)

True bit I guess from Shameless' point of view they released them, paid money for artwork to be done (no Amsterdamned comments ok? :)), discs to be printed etc

And my answer is Four Flies without a doubt.

Me too :)

Daemonia 18th January 2013 04:21 PM

I really do hope there's more Shameless releases this year, as 2012 was pretty for slim for genuinely new releases. But I also understand that the commercial climate isn't too hot at the moment. And with Shameless relying quite heavily on HMV promotion, I'm not sure how they'll view business prospects with HMV going under.
