As I understand it, extras are unrated (usually stated on the box too) so you'd be able to put the trimmed scenes in as extras.

No they have to be classified and if it was possible Anchor Bay UK would've added the Last House On The Left cuts to the 2-disc release extras instead of the way they used stills to show the censored bits.I'm sure Shameless would've done the same thing. The BBFC has actually rejected extras footage from the likes of The Howling (Fake porn movie) & Satans Slave (Alternate bedroom scene)which are extensions or variants of existing scenes in both movies.

Perhaps I am getting mixed up with US releases, my apologies if so!

Keep up the good work though, as you say most stuff has passed through untouched and hopefully that will continue.

Yup you're getting mixed up with US releases, in America you don't have to rate everything, over here you do.

Even Audio Commentaries, which doesn't make any sense since if you put them on a separate CD you wouldn't have to or you could claim they come under the 'Educational' exemption.

This is something that I've wondered for a long time actually. I've got the Anchor Bay UK box set of Sleepaway Camp. Now I think it's on part 3 as part of the extras, there are some scenes that have "extra gore" in them. Now what I want to know is, how come you can have this "extra gore" in these scenes as extras but not in the film itself?

Isn't this a problem also apparent in the ABUS SC box set? Missing footage in the first film?

I would like to think there was an opportunity to reinstate the absent gore scenes but perhaps for one reason or another ABUK was unwilling or unable to do so. Or maybe there was another excuse i don't know. It's frustrating though if something could've been done to rectify the problem but no action was taken.:mmph:

This is more likely the reason. It certainly isn't a BBFC rule and is probably down to the quality of the print itself.

Yes.
It's missing a few scene extensions to certain gore sequences and a bit of nudity;
No snake coming out of a corpse's mouth.
No bare arse skinny dipping.
Censored shot of the 'sliced up the back' corpse.
A few dialogue cuts and dubs.

But it is the best print around.

I have the uncut 'grey market' Canadian 'Legacy' release but the print quality is not as good as the 'Video Treasures' VHS it was taken from sadly.

"Part 3" is awful! And censored to hell.

Best way to see the first film is to search out the old U.S. 'Media' VHS. It's meant to be a lovely print and of course uncut.

A memorable little effort the original SC imo. Especially that shot at the end!

I think you guys know the one!:ack:

The best comparison site is DVD Compare. They aren't always accurate alas and need updating more often but they give a rough idea at least.
