Default Shameless Event: Shameless Goes Highbrow!

Hi everyone,

As mentioned in this week's Cult Labs' newsletter, we have some great Shameless news to announce today. So without further ado...

Shameless Goes Highbrow!

Shameless may be loud, brash and fetishistic with those unmistakable yellow cases, but that doesn’t mean we can't rise to the occasion; and this IS an occasion!

When Shameless filmed an interview with Paola Petri, the widow of the late Elio Petri, in preparation for the Dual Format Limited edition release of The 10th Victim [add it to your collection today from http://bit.ly/10thVictim], espressos were poured, sympathies were made and plans laid! This was not just a polite natter. Oh no!

Fast forward to today and Shameless is very, very proud indeed to announce its humble involvement working with the fantastic people at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, the ICA. This September, the ICA will be hosting a Special Season of films devoted to the criminally (you see there is a Shameless villainous connection!) ignored Elio Petri! Although one of Italian Cinema’s most fascinating and intriguing filmmakers of the 1960’s and 70’s, Elio seems to be sadly unknown on these British shores. But that’s all about to change! Where better to introduce the late Elio Petri than at the beautiful Nash-built ICA (described by Damien Hirst as ‘the cultural heartbeat of London’), on the Mall just a few yards from Her Majesty's gaff, Bucky Palace!

Shameless will try to be on best-behavior in this illustrious company!

From 5th September to 11th September, the ICA will be the home of must-see Italian obscurities that every Shameless fan needs to check out! Treat yourself to a cult film event like no other with a season stuffed with Elio Petri’s greatest movies, including the Oscar winning Investigation Of A Citizen, the much imitated pop-art, sci-fi movie The 10th Victim (with special Q&A!), the claustrophobic thriller A Ciascuno il Suo (We Still Kill the Old Way) and the unsettling psychological drama A Quiet Place in the Country.

So, head on over to https://www.ica.org.uk/whats-on/seas...rgotten-genius and book yourself tickets to this excellent event! There’s only limited seats available, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Don’t forget to wear your machine gun bra!

Would Investigation Of A Citizen, A Quiet Place in the Country and We Still Kill the Old Way be possible contenders for a Shameless release?

I don't know anything about them except they have Shameless style titles.

Elio Petri certainly deserves this imho as I find his films always interesting and often completely to my tastes.

Surprised L'assassino isn't in there.

That's probably because L'Assasino is being released by Arrow.
