Competition The Shameless Website

Shameless' new look website is now live!

The site is still a beta version so there is still plenty to be tackled including more features to go online in the future, but let us know what you think!

Very nice. Although, I have to take issue with the blurb written on there for New York Ripper, the film was never officially a 'video nasty' and never appeared on the DPP's list of prosecutable titles. In fact, I don't think it ever had a UK home video release until recently.

And secondly, the BBFC did watch the film and it was rejected. The BBFC wouldn't simply refuse to screen it, if the film was submitted they would've watched it. Granted it was rejected and Ferman did, apparently, have it escorted to the border. His reason for that was to prevent it being pirated and finding its way into UK circulation.
Jonny and trench like this.

You may be right, but I recall Ferman screening it himself, and in a phone call had it escorted out of the U.K. before the other bods at the bbfc even viewed it, ha ha ha, kinda like that version. But your account seems more likely.

Looks really good, Sarah.

I especially like the scrolling forum news update blurb on the right.

It's nice and yellow, too!

That minor quibble aside Sarah-very nice indeed.

Don't all those yellow boxes look good shown together?

Excellent website, Sarah. It's good to see all the covers together with information about each release. I look forward to seeing what developments there are many moves away from the beta version.

In terms of The New York Ripper, there are many films which thrive on notoriety and there's disinformation from both sides, so the only person who really knows what happened at the BBFC that day and what happened to the film stock is James Ferman, and he's not exactly in a position to clarify things is he?!

In any case, this thread is about the the new Shameless website and not a debate about the ins and outs of the BBFC and The New York Ripper.

Lovely-looking site there. I was wondering when it was going to get an overhaul; the other one was out of date by a fair few releases. Great stuff!

Looks pretty good for a beta version, me thinks. Nos already said it, but I wanna double it: I love the fact that you've got all the Shameless releases together on one page with cover and everything.

Greetings!

PS: I guess that you also want some critical feedback: a mouseover for the covers, presenting the reverse artwork, would be fantastic!

That would be really cool, especially as some releases of the same title have different reverse artwork.

Cool new look, long live the new yellow. Others beat me to it, but great to see those covers, also agree with Prince on the reverse covers, you do know Sarah, that's one more bookmark in my already crowded shortcuts, sigh. A big "hell yeah" from me.
