Actually I am getting mixed up, it was at a video game shop where I worked that you could borrow dvds over night, but I never bothered, as you had to fill in a form etc etc, and keep the film for one night so it wasn't worth it. No one I knew would copy a film as everyone I worked with was quite anal about coping and personally I buy dvds for the artwork, thats why I fell in love with arrow.

Sometimes when a film came into a store, and the disc was rattling around in the box, I would open the seal and check the disc. If it was okay, I'd put it back in place and seal it up.

With all due respect, Mr. Chad, what people say and what people do are often different things

What's the time limit for this? I've got access to three HMVs and intend to "hit" them tomorrow

Sorry but hardly. When something did get borrowed it was always a case of 'I need to see the end of this film that I caught the other night' Surprisinly most people I worked with were much more into music.

Or you could hit Newcastle's HMV as they had both the above titles on sale as of last Friday. Gateshead's Metro Centre branch is also worth checking out but Newcastle's Shameless selection is by far the best of the two outlets.

Don't forget the Sunderland HMV too but it's a pretty small store with only one floor so i can't imagine Shameless stock getting much exposure there.

HMV's Oxford Circus branch sadly lacks a display. If there is one, it must be tucked away somewhere very indiscreet.
The London Trocadero HMV, however, has a modest display towards the back of the main part of the store, with the majority of DVDs but not with the horror collection. The horror collection is dotted with yellow titles. I was disappointed to find that Almost Human retails at £20; a bit too steep for me.
I have a photo and will sort that out soon.

Okay here goes. I went to the Metrocentre store today, unlike a few days ago there seemed to be even more.

Starting with Blu Ray - They had all the Shameless BD in and NYR was 12pound. Cannibal Holocuast was 12 pound and 4FOGV was 20.

Okay the dvd shelves were packed with dvds. The only titles I couldn't see in stock were 4FOGV, Strange Vice of, Footprints, Cemetery Man, Slasher Nasties, Sexpliotation. The stock they did have was packed. At least three copies of each title in the AZ. It must be noted Metrocentre hmv doesn't have a flip through and the horror section is on the wall, some spine on and known titles facing. Lots of Shameless titles were face on including Phantom of Death, Watch me Kill and Killer Nun. All titles on dvd were 7pound, besides NYR, Cannibal Holocuast, DTAD, House on the Edge of the Park - all 8pound each, Fulci Boxset 11pound. It must also be noted as I bought the Fulci set, that the version of NYR in the box is the Fan edition and not #1. I checked the three copies in stock and all were the fan edition. I bought it anyway (hunt goes on for me owning NYR #1)

Okay now for the display. By the side of the horror section was a standee or deckchair if you know them by that name. Half was filled with budget titles and the rest Shameless titles. Below is pic.

Please excuse the not HD quality as my phone is rubbish and I felt like Roger Cook.
