I couldn't find anything usable for Arrow Beach at all! Thanks for the tip though - I'll add moviegoods to my list of sources.

dpi is not a computer resolution it's a printing or scanning resolution, it doesn't matter what dpi it is if it has enough pixels.
(the posters on there would be more like 21dpi if you are counting them as scanned from original 27"x40" posters)

Nice job on the cover btw.

Yes you're right - it's what I go by through photoshop. I think the equivalent is 72dpi = 360x360pixels on screen, I could be confused though!

thanks, there was a very long bitter argument on the old anchor bay forums about it. It seems to be what people are taught at university, which I think is a hold-over from the OLD days. A bit like the problem that many media tutors are actually old English tutors.

There is no actual equivalent since screens come in all different sizes and all different resolutions, it's all linked back to the OLD days when apple made it's monitors to mimic exactly that dpi.

More Info

Thanks Siccoyote, that's an interesting read. I am a printer by trade and we were taught to use 72'dpi' through photoshop when emailing proofs to clients or sending images for web design use. If the client wants a printable version, it's normally 300-600'dpi' depending on what they are printing it from. As stated, it depends on the size/resolution of the monitor how the image will actually look.

Sorry everyone, I realise this has gone off topic somewhat, so here's some more...
