SHAM030 - The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh: The Artwork

The fact that Shameless decided to release Sergio Martino's The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh in 2011 was met with some excitement since it's been a title Cult Labs members have been asking for for years.

Now I can happily unveil the artwork that Shameless have decided on. They've said they'd love to hear your feedback so tell us what you think!

I really like it! Especially like the use of the polaroids and the obligatory breast shot :)

Really looking forward to seeing this again actually.

Argentofan 20th January 2011 10:48 AM

I like it too, It's really good. I like the polaroids.

Sec 20th January 2011 10:50 AM

Perfect layout. Though I assume the background pic isn't as high res as the final one!

No, this is a work in progress so it does need to be finalised!

Gojirosan 20th January 2011 10:52 AM

Excellent.

This is Shameless's finest hour!

Sec 20th January 2011 10:57 AM

I'm also overjoyed to see Shameless go back to giallo. There are so many out there yet un-released on English friendly DVD (or out of print, like this one) that Shameless could focus entirely on the subgenre!

Jonny 20th January 2011 10:58 AM

What makes this one a 'Fan Edition' ?

All I see is a red 'X' although I am on my work PC at the mo - any possibility of a link?

Otherwise I'll have to bask in it's glory when I'm back at home tonight. ;)

I've just changed the file type so hopefully this means you can see it now. :)

Pete 20th January 2011 12:40 PM

Very nice!

bedorca 20th January 2011 12:56 PM

Brilliant. Very excited about this!

Gojirosan 20th January 2011 03:00 PM

I am not exactly sure of the precise definition of "Fan Edition"...

Thanks Sarah - looks very good!

One minor (anal) complaint: I know it's a quote from DVDVerdict, but the plural of giallo is not 'giallos' but gialli. Apologies in advance for being a grammar-whore.

Made by the fans for the fans, I guess (?)

Baba Yaga, The Designated Victim, Footprints and Watch Me When I Kill were fan editions - they came with slightly more special features than the standard Shameless releases, if I remember correctly (fact tracks, interviews, intros etc.)

I have to admit that jarred with me too.

Looks great! Also love the polaroids. Can't wait to meet this in person. :coolblue:

The Fan Edition - You've got us all intrigued now Sarah...

Great to see Shameless back on the Giallo trail. I used to have the NoShame edition but flogged it in anticipation of this one!

bdc 20th January 2011 06:36 PM

As it's not the finished artwork yet,i'd say it looks good. ;)
The background pic still needs improvement.
Curious about the reverse. :eyebrows:

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th January 2011 07:19 PM

Also looking forward to the reverse B.

Glad they went with that image.

That's one of only two things I don't like about Shameless releases, they seem a bit geeky to me. The other is some of the terrible Redemption style corny taglines on some of them. Apart from that I look forward to the releases.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th January 2011 07:30 PM

I traded this film on the No Shame label years ago without even watching it.

So I'm quite looking forward to seeing it.

When this comes out and you've seen it you'll have wished you'd seen it before, one of Martino's very best, a thousand times better than Torso.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th January 2011 07:34 PM

Wanna know summat?

That's what I traded it for!

hahahaha, that is funny.

Torso is still a great film though but in my eyes this is a hell of a lot better.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th January 2011 07:40 PM

It was a sealed ABUS TORSO.
Feel better now.

So plenty of violence like Torso then?

I've still got Martino's All The Colours....lying in the to watch pile.

No, not as graphic as TORSO.

You should watch ALL THE COLOURS, if you dig that you'll defo like WARDH.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th January 2011 07:45 PM

Loads of Italian films sitting Jonny. Not enough hours in the day.

No doubt the No Shame disc still selling for ridiculous prices!

Anyone got any alternate artwork they can suggest?:)

Not as violent as Torso but I think it's a much better film, violence is good but more violence doesn't necessarily mean better (I'm sure it does in some peoples eyes though) ;)
