Yes, this was the first time as far as I remember. That "excuse" is crap, typical BBC backpedalling imo.

Well, the reason I love the old Grindhouse movies is partly because of their political incorrectness and it makes me laugh in a kind of 'you can't say/do that!'

Just as those films are products of their time and couldn't be made today, so are the old comedy programmes like FT and Mind Your Language. I laugh at them for the same reasons, because the dialogue has your jaw hitting the floor.

As Stephen says, just because I laugh at them doesn't make me a racist or whatever, because the humour, in most cases if you look at it in context, is directed at the bigots - we're laughing at their bigotry and narrow mindedness. That's the major difference and if the BBC can't see that, they're more stupid than I thought. Conisdering they harboured and actively encouraged paedophilia at the BBC it's laughable that they think that censoring an episode of FT is going to make everything alright again.

I'd agree that their explanation was crap. I think they would've still cut it at 9pm. Just a feeling I have.

Do you feel the need to comment on everything you dont like? Its quite enfuriating at times. I have no idea how you can defend such modern tosh (95% of which are simply unwatchable) and bash genuinly classic comedy like Python and Faulty Towers. Of all modern sitcoms I can think of I enjoyed I can only name The Royal Family, Hebburn, The IT Crowd and The Big Bang Theory. Simply terrible times for comedy.

Am I not allowed to comment or give differing views?

I haven't slated FT or Python, have I? I don't especially like Fawlty Towers but I like Monty Python, and have no idea why you might imagine I don't. I also didn't mention any modern comedy "tosh" or not. SO, once again, you are making up stuff and putting words into my mouth.

I lived through the 70s I remember On The Buses and It Ain't 'Alf Hot Mum and Love Thy Neighbour and Mind Your Language and such. I find this kind of comedy thoroughly obnoxious and offensive - as I am entitled to.

The original point may have been the cutting of Fawlty Towers, but the conversation expanded onto 70s situation comedy in general. I objected to the cutting of Fawlty Towers along with everyone else. The conversation then expanded further.

You clearly have some personal gripe with me and it is getting tiresome. I ask you to desist. I don't want to have to report you. You are becoming a bully simply because I think differently to you and have different tastes. I notice you didn't highlight one of Demoncrat's posts to attack. Only mine. Please stop.

Everyone has different opinions, if we all liked the same stuff it would be boring on here. There is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion and if people don't agree with it, then so be it.
There's no need to turn it into a personal attack

I agree i find sometimes people take other people opinions as a personal insult or assault on them when sometimes its not its meant to be a friendly forum and to which most times it is, I just think that from time to time people shouldnt take other people comments to heart or to serious and dont need to be insulting back..Ive lost count the amount of times ive made comments people have disagreed made a comment and then said like dont take it personaly or im sorry if you take it the wrong way.
I dont just think people are giving their opinion and everyone can do that without the insults.
The world would be a load of rubbish and dull and boring if we all liked the same and thought the same...I cant stand heavy metal and thrash music think its awful but doesnt mean someone else cant and i think they are wrong for doing it each to their own ..
There one thing i hate is when people start going down that line and then beginning a personal attack and insults because then it start to ruin things and the forum when it can be all avoided..

I think your the one putting words in my mouth. Your initial post had little baring on the actual topic, you used the subject to take a jab at something you personaly dislike. This isn't a thread about the show's themself, it's about there censorship. You made a comment that was unneccisery, you stop. I can buy you don't like them, fine, don't comment if not asked. The snobby attitude you take to what you consider 'inferior' is what boils my piss, I have no gripes with you personaly. Your an enlightening chap with alot to say, it's just seem's to be pointlessly and derivitevly negative sometimes, and that annoys me as your film knowledge is a standard I try to achieve.

The examples I gave where probably not accurate, I simply recalled from memory what I believed you had claimed to dislike previously. I apologies if I was mistaken, and indeed you have not named any modern sitcomes as this is not the place for them, nor should it be. I do not wish to keep arguing with you, nor anyone else, but at time's I feel you make thinly vailed attacks at what you dislike simply to get a reaction, and I hate that in all people. I have no intention of insulting you or your inteligence or harm you as a person.
