January 1992 - 30 years ago, we saw the end of The Rockers tag team

Featuring one of the greatest pieves of commentary from 'The Brain': "Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape! Did you see that? What an act of cowardism"

Hulk Hogan with The A-Team

"The WWF champ appeared in two episodes in The A-Team’s fourth season, both times as himself. In 'Body Slam', he pops up as a buddy of Mr T’s BA Baracus (both, coincidentally, had appeared in Rocky III) and again 14 episodes later, in 'The Trouble with Harry' (alongside another WWE fave, William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry).

Hogan revealed years later that he’d been asked to become a series regular, only to turn the job down, because of the friction between stars Mr T and George Peppard. “I got tired of being a referee,” he said.

“Mr T would say, 'Oh Hulk, you can't be George Peppard's friend. He's not your friend, I'm your friend.' Those guys were fighting all the time. I did two or three episodes, but I wanted to be in the wrestling ring more than being a referee to George Peppard and Mr T.”"

The results from the 2022 Royal Rumble PPV. For some reason, this was held on a Saturday instead of the usual Sunday

SPOILER:
  • In the opening Universal Championship match, Seth Rollins defeated champion Roman Reigns via disqualification. However, this meant that Reigns retained the title
  • The Women's Royal Rumble Match, which lasted for 59:40, was won by Ronda Rousey who automatically wins a women's championship match at WrestleMania 38. The order of entry for the contestants was: Sasha Banks / Melina / Tamina / Kelly Kelly / Aliyah / Liv Morgan / Queen Zelina / Bianca Belair / Dana Brooke / Michelle McCool / Sonya Deville / Natalya / Cameron / Naomi / Carmella / Rhea Ripley / Charlotte Flair / Ivory / Brie Bella / Mickie James / Alicia Fox / Nikki A.S.H. / Summer Rae / Nikki Bella / Sarah Logan / Lita / Molly Holly / Ronda Rousey / Shotzi / Shayna Baszler
  • In the Raw Women's Championship, Becky Lynch defeated Doudrop to retain the title
  • In the WWE Championship match, Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar to win the title
  • In a Mixed tag team match, Edge and Beth Phoenix defeated The Miz and Maryse
  • The Men's Royal Rumble Match, which lasted for 51:10, was won by Brock Lesnar who automatically wins a world championship match at WrestleMania 38. The order of entry for the contestants was: AJ Styles / Shinsuke Nakamura / Austin Theory / Robert Roode / Ridge Holland / Montez Ford / Damian Priest / Sami Zayn / Johnny Knoxville / Angelo Dawkins / Omos / Ricochet / Chad Gable / Dominik Mysterio / Happy Corbin / Dolph Ziggler / Sheamus / Rick Boogs / Madcap Moss / Riddle / Drew McIntyre / Kevin Owens / Rey Mysterio / Kofi Kingston / Otis / Big E / Bad Bunny / Shane McMahon / Randy Orton / Brock Lesnar

Notes:
  • Mickie James came out with the Impact Knockouts Championship and was identified on screen as such
  • There were two celebrity entrants in the men's event - Johnny Knoxville and Bad Bunny
  • Kofi tried for one of his classic Royal Rumble moments to avoid elimination but his feet hit the ground before he managed to grab onto the ring barricade
  • Overall the event was a disappointment. The opening match was rated as the best of the evening, while the Woman's Royal Rumble match was described as being "probably the worst women's Rumble since the start of holding the matches, with too many women who aren't used to working together all getting stuck in the match and slowing things down" while the Men's Royal Rumble match was described as being "easily among the five worst all-time, if not lower. The match dragged badly and the crowd was lost because of it - and further lost when Kofi's big spot went wrong. And Shane McMahon and Bad Bunny in the final five is just the wrong call beyond any doubt"

The next PPV that is due to be held is the 12th Elimination Chamber event. However, for obvious reasons, this has been re-titled No Escape in Germany. This is due to take place on Saturday, February 19, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This means it will the first Elimination Chamber event to take place outside of the United States which adds credence to the suggestion that we are going to get a major WWE PPV held in the UK sometime this year

At the moment this is rumours and hearsay, apparently WWE have fired Shane McMahon, as he has not done much recently and caused a few problems Vince was forced to send him home while discussing what to do and it was leaked he was let go.
