Default Hannibal

Watched pilot episode of new series, Hannibal.
Excellent stuff. I'm pretty familiar with the Thomas Harris
books, so it was kinda nice to be able to recognise most of
the characters, like Garret Jacob Hobbs and Dr.Bloom to name
a few. Loved every minute of it, now roll on next week's episode.
This will keep me going until series two of The Following hits
our screens.

Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler

Anyone see Mads Mikkelson serving Eddie Izzard up his own leg in the latest episode of Hannibal? One of the weirdest scenes I've ever come across. Izzard could barely keep a straight face uttering such lines as 'you're turning me into my own last supper?' and 'my compliments to the chef', and yet in the crazy-surreal universe of this show, it worked. If you're not watching Hannibal, think again. It's like prime 70s Argento doing a series of Millennium. Mind bending visuals, no real plot logic, a surfeit of loonies, implausibility by the bucketload and yet the 3 central performances by Mikkelson, Dancy and Fishbourne somehow hold the whole shebang together - unbelievably, they make it believable.
Some of the deaths in this show, Jesus. Skin Angels still my favourite, next to the 20 foot high corpse 'totem pole' or possibly the mushroom people - so many to choose from and we're only half way through Season 2!
Future classic, guaranteed, when everyone twigs what Bryan Fuller is up to he'll be hailed a genius.

Definitely. When it was announced, I thought it would be as bad as Hannibal Rising, but it's a great show. It's rare that a program hits the ground running on its first episode, but Hannibal did just that. I always foybd Hopkins far to camp in his portrayal of Lecter, but Mads Mikkelsen was born to play him. He's even better than Brian Cox, who I thought was even greater than Hopkins in the role.

I always found Hopkins a bit camp, my fave film in the series is the unpopular choice of Hannibal

Extended trailer for Hannibal's Red Dragon storyline. I seriously can't wait to see this.

Just completed Season 2 Episode 9. It was actually such a surprise that Hannibal would encourage that in the end, I did think that he loved Will in his own twisted way. I just wish we would have gotten a full shot of that guy in his suit, it looks pretty cool. I also love how at the beginning Will was terrified of the elk he keeps seeing but now he's embraced it, says a lot of his character.
