Good review of 'Hi Diddle Riddle'/'Smack In The Middle'
Yeah, the format stays the same with the double story episodes until season 3 when all but one of the stories are one episode.

By the end of season 2 the ratings were dropping and there was a possibility of cancellation.
To inject new interest in the show they introduced Batgirl (Yvonne Craig) and decided on the new one episode stories.
Toward the end of season 3 ratings had declined so much that ABC cancelled the show. NBC were keen to take up the series but by then all the Batman sets had been destroyed and that was that.
