The Cellar Club got off to a pretty good start last week with The Mummy, Peeping Tom and The Amazing Transparent Man.

It's great that Talking Pictures are trying to recreate the classic double bills (and more) from the past.

Pity Caroline Munro was introducing them. She's as wooden as ever and all she had to say whilst introducing The Mummy was how lovely Cushing and Lee were to work with. Nothing about the film in question. She should watch a few of the old Scorpion Releasing dvd's hosted by Katerina Leigh Waters to see how it's done.

I haven't got any of those as the pic quality was supposedly poor on a lot of them so can't comment. However Elvira's pretty tacky anyway. I'm more of a Moviedrome person than a 'look at me i'm Elvira' type when it comes to introducing movies.

I'm chuffed about this, had the boxset at one point and resold it as i was skint, so will be recording and watching them again.
Overall not as good as Twilight Zone but there are some stand out episodes, particularly "The Zanti misfits" with Bruce Dern and ZZZZZ which was a goofy one about a bee girl.

The first series of The Outer Limits is one of my favourite shows. A brilliant mixture of sci fi and horror.

I don't know if anyone has been watching them but Talking Pictures Cellar club is still going on Friday nights and they've been showing a good mix of classic horror and some interesting oddities.

Tonight they are showing Dr Bloods Coffin and Franco's Bloody Judge.

Next week Cormans Pit and the pendulum and I bury the living.

It must be doing well. They've shown loads of great films over the weeks. Had i not owned the vast majority on disc i know i'd have watched a few of them.

I've never seen Dr. Blood's Coffin and meant to watch that but totally forgot about it.
