 The Greatest TV Theme Tunes
A TV theme tune can be just as important to the show itself, sometimes a theme is loved solely because the show is loved, sometimes nostalgia plays a part and other times the theme just happens to be frigging amazing. I wanted to start this thread to discover and share the theme tunes loved. I'm starting with one that has been a favourite since childhood. I enjoyed the show Taxi as a kid but the theme tune stuck in my mind more than the show itself. I still enjoy the show but the theme itself I could listen to on a daily basis, it's just so calming.

Next, as I'm a huge Buffy fan and because the theme by Nerf Herder is amazing. Of course it evolves and gets slower and unfortunately less scuzzy later on. Demdike@Cult Labs likes this.

I have always loved the theme for The Equalizer it just sets the tone for the show gritty and dark.

One more before I get my tea on. Unbelievably I had never watched Inspector Morse up until my holiday last week. One thing I hadn't realised was how dark these series was and fittingly the opening credits are silent with just the theme at the end, at least in the early series - I haven't got that far yet (only six hours of it at the weekend). It's so beautiful and haunting. Demdike@Cult Labs likes this.
