December Highlights on the Horror Channel:

"Andrew Goth's ambitious and disaster beset zombie cowboy feature (it started production in 2009) finally gets an outing on UK TV on Friday 16 December at 9pm, courtesy of Horror Channel. Starring Wesley Snipes (who served a prison sentence soon after the film was completed) Gallowwalkers is a heady mix of Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns, and Alejandro Jodorowsky's mystical cult classic El Topo. Set in a vast foreboding desert, we follow a cursed gunfighter Aman (Snipes) as he attempts to allude justice whilst killing the 'undead'. Prepare for surreal true grit, a shock bonanza, and a fistful of corpses. It also stars fellow hard-nuts Kevin Howarth and Patrick Bergin.

That's not the only movie worth staying in for this December, Horror Channel also has a Boxing Day treat for you - the network premiere of Joe Dante's genuinely affecting monster movie Matinee, starring John Goodman. Set in the 1960s, this early comedy from horror filmmaker Joe Dante centres on a teenage boy who befriends charismatic, humorously overblown movie producer Lawrence Woolsey (Goodman), who specialises in gimmick-filled horror films. Preparation for the premiere of Woolsey's latest opus, which stars a giant ant, coincides with the escalation of the Cuban Missile Crisis. This culminates in unexpected chaos. Well worth a watch.

Other UK premieres on offer include Austin Chick's shocking payback thriller Girls Against Boys; and Olatunde Osunsanmi's serial-killer crime gripper Evidence, starring Stephen Moyer.

There are also network premieres for Alex Proyas's absorbing sci-fi actioner Knowing, starring Nic Cage; Joseph J. Lawson's dinosaur-battling B-movie homage Age Of Dinosaurs, starring Treat Williams and Rachel Goldenberg's sci-fi flavoured mockbuster Sherlock Holmes.

ALSO... from Friday 16 December at 7pm there is the Network Premiere of Earth: Final Conflict Season 2 (1998)"

January premiers on The Horror Channel:

Jan 8th - Muck: "After escaping from a possessed ancient burial ground underneath the Cape Cod marshes, Mia (Lauren Francesca) and her friends take shelter in an abandoned house. Unfortunately, the house has an evil spirit of its own. They are now trapped between malevolent entities, forcing them to stay and fight, or go back the way they came. Also stars Kane Hodder"

Jan 9th - The Ninth Gate

Jan 13th - 13 Sins: "Heavily in debt and with a pregnant girlfriend, an autistic brother, and an ailing father to care for, down-on-his-luck salesman Elliot (Mark Webber) is thrown an unusual lifeline. A mysterious phone caller offers him cash for completing thirteen challenges, each more difficult than the one before. However, should he fail one, he loses everything. As the stakes rise, Elliot must decide whether the risk is worth the reward"

Jan 14th - We Are Still Here. "After their teenage son is killed in a car crash, Paul and Anne (Barbara Crampton) move to the New England countryside to start a new life. But the grieving couple unknowingly becomes the prey of a family of vengeful spirits that reside in their converted funeral parlour home. And so begins a terrifying fight back against the living hiding a terrible secret, and the malicious dead demanding a sacrifice that threatens to pull their cursed souls into hell"

Jan 20th - ATM. "One late night after an office party, co-workers David (Brian Geraghty), Emily (Alice Eve) and Corey (Josh Peck) make a late-night stop at an ATM. What should be a routine transaction turns into a desperate struggle for survival when an unknown man appears outside the vestibule. With the wintry temperatures dipping below freezing, and the morning sunrise still hours away, they have no choice but to play the man's deadly game of cat-and-mouse

Jan 21st - Out Of The Dark. "Sarah Harriman (Julia Stiles) has moved her family - husband Paul (Scott Speedman) and sprightly daughter Hannah (Pixie Davies) - to a small Colombian town to work at the paper mill her father (Stephen Rea) owns. As they settle into their home, surrounded by a forbidding jungle landscape, Hannah begins to act strangely and suddenly disappears. As Sarah and Paul frantically search for her, they delve deeper into the town'superstitions and discover a shocking secret about their family; a secret they must uncover in order to save their daughter"

Jan 29th - The Last Exorcism

Something on the lines of Masters of Horror with the Crypt keeper introducing would have been okay.

Weren't they planning on ditching the Crypt Keeper for the reboot?
