"In what would mark his first major live-action TV series, Tim Burton is setting his sights on The Addams Family, looking to develop a new series focused on the famous clan. Burton is negotiating to executive produce and possibly direct all episodes of this new take on the franchise. As of October 2020, the package has multiple buyers bidding for it, including Netflix, which sources say is at the top of the list of landing the project."

TVShowtime Orders a Pilot Episode of Vampire Series ‘Let the Right One In’ With Demián Bichir Set to Star

John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel became the incredible Swedish movie Let the Right One In back in 2008, which spawned the American remake Let Me In just a couple years later. The vampire tale is now headed to the small screen, with Deadline reporting that Showtime has ordered up a pilot episode of a potential series with Demián Bichir (The Nun) attached to star.

Andrew Hinderaker (Away) is the showrunner, with Seith Mann (Homeland) directing.

The project hails from Tomorrow Studios, who have been trying to get a “Let the Right One In” series off the ground for the last several years now, previously set up at A&E and TNT.

Deadline details, “The series centers on a father, Mark (Bichir) and his 12-year-old daughter whose lives were changed forever 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the minimal amount of human blood she needs to stay alive.”

“The series is both a love letter to the original film, and a story entirely our own,” said Hinderaker. “And casting a true artist like Demián epitomizes our bold aspiration to be one of the most terrifying shows on TV, and one of the most moving.”

Doesn't sound anything like the original, so why call it that?
And it doesn't sound like the kind of thing that's got much longevity to it, for fairly obvious reasons!

This Easter weekend, you can look forward to back-to-back screenings of Hollywood’s greatest horror and science fiction films on Horror Channel

Saturday 3 April: Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), The Mummy (1932), The Wolf Man (1941) and Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954).
Sunday 4 April: It Came From Beneath The Sea (1955), This Island Earth (1955), Earth vs. The Flying Saucers (1956), The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), 20 Million Miles To Earth (1957).

Battlestar Galactica is the much-loved Emmy-winning series which depicts epic futuristic battle between the last remaining population of humans and their evil robotic nemeses - the Cylons.

Spiralling through space in their titular fleet, the human forces, led by Commander Adama (Lorne Greene), search the Universe for the last known plant refuge - Earth. This TV favourite still remains a classic choice amongst Sci-Fi fans.

Unseen on TV for years it will make a triumphant return to our screens from March 24th on Horror. Here's a brief history of the cult classic.

Cast your minds back, if you can, to the late 1970s, Star Wars was still fresh in the minds of cinema goers and American TV was desperate to cash in and soon, blasting its way onto our screens was a brand-new space saga for us to follow, Battlestar Galactica. This was no Star Trek clone nor Doctor Who (which was beginning to look cheaper as it went along) knock-off, this was full-blown space opera stuff.

From the mind of Glen A. Larson, the man behind Alias Smith and Jones and Quincy MD, this lush looking serial had everything we wanted and more. There were space battles, cool robots, dashing heroes and heroines and an acting legend at the helm, Lorne Greene. It follows a basic premise centring on humanoids who have to battle an ever-increasing threat from lizard/robots who are destroying everything and every planet in their path. From here the people who are left need to band together and try and fight off this constant attack. Cue explosions, romance, lots of shots in quarries and shiny robots.

"Horror Channel presents Classic Marathon Easter Weekend - Horror day on Saturday 3rd April and Sci Fi day on Sunday 4th April

The Classic Horror Day kicks off at 1pm with a horror classic which stands as the most famous and celebrated film version of the popular vampire story, Dracula. Bela Lugosi delivers a star-making performance as the titular villain - his erudite, refined Dracula is at once alluring and terrifying. While director Tod Browning an effectively and haunting atmosphere. Also stars Edward Van Sloan as Dracula's arch enemy, vampire-hunter Van Helsing. This is followed at 2.05pm by a movie considered by many to be the greatest horror film of all time, director James Whale's masterpiece Frankenstein. The film tells the story of a maniacal scientist whose obsession with creating a living being from dead body parts leads to a tragic and shocking end. Adapted from the gothic novel by Mary Shelley, the film made Karloff a star and ushered in a new era of horror. It's been selected by many critics as one of the top hundred films of all time.

Boris Karloff solidifies his status as one of the greatest horror stars in film history with his terrifying yet surprisingly poignant performance as high priest as Imhotep in The Mummy at 4pm. A 3,700 year old mummy who wreaks havoc upon the members of the British field expedition that disturbed his tomb. Featuring ground-breaking innovations in make-up that are used to chilling effects, the film earns its place in the canon of classic horror cinema. Lon Chaney, Jr. is the original Wolf Man at 5.30pm, forever cursed to roam the countryside as a werewolf. The atmospheric direction and moody soundtrack make The Wolf Man as frightening today as it was when it was released. This chilling film introduces another iconic character into the pantheon of classic horror film monsters and villains.

The day finishes at 7pm as we meet the Creature From The Black Lagoon. American scientists get more than they bargained for on an amazon expedition when a dark tributary turns up a prehistoric man with gills. The half man/half amphibian breaks free after being captured, stealing away the only woman on the crew. This well-crafted creature feature introduces us to one of the most iconic movie monsters of all time.

If Sci-Fi is your thing then Sunday from 1pm is for you starting with It Came From Beneath The Sea. While on a routine mission, Cmdr. Pete Mathews (Kenneth Tobey) runs into trouble when his submarine is nearly sunk by an unknown creature, which is identified as a giant octopus from the nether reaches of Mindanao Deep. The beast has been awakened by nearby nuclear testing and now, radioactive and monstrously huge, the rampaging leviathan is heading toward the North American Pacific Coast. Atomic terror at 2.30pm in This Island Earth. When atomic scientist Dr. Meacham is chosen to take part in a top-secret research experiment, he quickly discovers that he is really involved in an evil scheme by alien Metalunans to take over Earth. After he and Dr. Adams make their escape, they are whisked away in a flying saucer to Metaluna, where they are blamed for the destruction. Will interstellar negotiation save the day or will the scientists be forced to take part in a treacherous battle to the death?

A battle to end them all at 4.10pm, Earth Vs The Flying Saucers. UFOs from a doomed star system invade Earth with plans of world conquest. Surrender is not an option so the human race must fight to the bitter end. Special effects are by Ray Harryhausen. Serious Sci-Fi at 5.50pm, the genre bending masterpiece The Incredible Shrinking Man. While on a boating trip, Scott Carey (Grant Williams) is exposed to a radioactive cloud. Nothing seems amiss at first, but several months later Scott realizes that he's shrunk in height by several inches. He sees a doctor, who admits that he's baffled. As Scott continues to shrink, decreasing to three feet tall, he becomes bitter, and lashes out at his wife, Louise (Randy Stuart). He begins to fear a cure will never be found -- since even as he becomes a national sensation, he's still shrinking.

The marathons weekend ends at 7.25pm in 20 Million Miles To Earth. A manned space flight from Venus crash lands in the Mediterranean, losing its most precious cargo: reptilian eggs from the planet's surface. Italian zoologist (Frank Puglia), his American granddaughter, Marisa (Joan Taylor), and returned astronaut Calder (William Hopper) must battle to the creature before it destroys everything in its path."

Didn't know where to out this, it's not up and coming.

American gods cancelled

https://www.deadline.com/2021/03/ame...man-1234724166

The TV gods have turned their favor away from American Gods, at least for now. The series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel starring Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane will not return for a fourth season on Starz, the network confirmed Monday.

The news of the premature end to the often-troubled series is not altogether unexpected, and follows the Season 3 finale on March 21. That season-ender saw Whittle’s Shadow Moon seemingly killed after a vigil at the mythical Tree of Life for his seemingly deceased and estranged father, Mr. Wednesday/Odin, played by McShane. A pivotal point in Gaiman’s book, the incident set up American Gods‘ fourth season with Wednesday taking advantage of Shadow Moon’s sacrifice for Wednesday’s own resurgence in the battle against the New Gods.

Everyone at Starz is grateful to the dedicated cast and crew, and our partners at Fremantle who brought author and executive producer Neil Gaiman’s ever-relevant story to life that speaks to the cultural climate of our country,” a network spokesperson told Deadline today.

In typical small-screen fashion, where nobody ever says never anymore, we hear there are discussions about wrapping up the Toronto-themed series to align with Gaiman’s 2001 novel as either an event series or a TV movie. However, based on the fact American Gods has seen double-digit ratings declines from season to season, any hopes of a continuation might be more smoke than fire from the premium cabler.

Developed for TV by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, American Gods has seen almost as much drama behind the camera as in front of it since its April 2017 premiere with the original cast that included Whittle, McShane, Orlando Jones, Emily Browning, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover, Kahyun Kim, Omid Abtahi, Mousa Kraish and Pablo Schreiber.

Fuller and Green exited the series during pre-production on Season 2, replaced by Jesse Alexander, and, to a lesser extent, Gaiman, in what became a problematic year as behind-the-scenes sharp elbows and long delays pushed its return to March 2019. Schreiber, Kraish and most publicly, Jones did not return for Season 3, which debuted January 10.

Gaiman is currently ramping up work on Netflix’s fantasy adaptation of his comic book series The Sandman, with casting earlier this year setting Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar among others. The prolific author already has Good Omens at Amazon.

Produced by Fremantle, American Gods is executive produced by current showrunner Charles Eglee, Gaiman, Anne Kenney, Damian Kindler, David Paul Francis, Mark Tinker, McShane, Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk.

Starz’s upcoming slate includes Run the World; Blindspotting; Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force; Black Mafia Family; the second seasons of Hightown, Power Book II: Ghost and P-Valley; and Season 3 of Step Up among others. Earlier this month it renewed Outlander for a seventh season.

Upon hearing the news, Shadow Moon himself responded to the cancellation. Whittle remembered his time on the Starz series, thanking all who were involved in the process – from the cast and crew to Neil Gaiman.

This has been an amazing journey thus far and I am so grateful to my fellow cast and crew who have worked so hard on this award winning show. We have the best fans around the world and thank each of you for your passion and support, so know that Neil Gaiman, Fremantle myself and the cast are still committed to completing Neil Gaiman’s critically acclaimed story,” he wrote.
